Building Bridges for Christ in All We Do

Building Bridges for Christ in All We Do
Seek Others       Welcome All       Grow in Faith
Serving the Church, Community  and the World

Welcome to BridgeView UMC's Website

BridgeView is a church that believes in building bridges.  We want to connect people to God and to one another.  In a time when there is so much negativity in some of our churches and culture wars divide us we think the church ought to be about trying to find common ground in Jesus Christ so we can better serve and honor Him.  While issues of theology and values are important and worthy of some discussion we think our priority as a church is to love others as professed in I John 4:11: “Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another.” (NRSV).   We put that love into practice by building bridges that help lead people to Christ and when we recognize all are children of God and welcome here.

BridgeView is also a church of people who actively seek truth and realize the world and all its problems are not black and white.  There is plenty of gray in the world.  We are thinking Christians who don’t believe science and faith have to be exclusive.  As far as secular labels go we are a conservative church if that means holding on to some of the traditions of orthodox Christianity but we are a liberal church if that means not being afraid to adapt or try something different if it helps us reach new people for Christ.  We are also liberal if that means being generous in spirit.  More than anything we try to be a mainstream Methodist church.  That means we care about reaching lost people for Christ as well as the social issues that Christ cared about as best illustrated in stories from the Bible such as the prodigal son (Luke 15:11), the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25) and in Matthew 25:40 when Jesus tells his followers that when you care for the least in society you are caring for me. At the end of the day we would hope people describe BridgeView as not conservative or liberal but say they strive to be Christ-like.

We are a young, actively growing church (founded in 2000) and invite you to join us in this journey to build bridges and to connect people to God and one another.  Please call or e-mail me at the address below if you would like to know more about our church and our vision.
